I was in my room watching pix11 news. They were showing places where Sandy was about to come. The lights went out. It was around 8pm. I was looking out the window and I saw that other people had the flash lights out pointed outside. About 2 hours later that's when the flooding started. At first it didn't even pass the grass. Everyone around me thought that was it. I knew better then that.
Transforming right before my eyes the water went from about 1 inch to 5 feet. That all happen within minutes as they ocean and the bay meet. I live 2 blocks fom the bay and six blocks from the ocean and the water was about 5 feet and six inches. I know that because i few people were outside during the storm as it was rising. I wanted to go down but i thought i would drown. Me and my cousin saw the flashlights coming from outside as we heard srceems for HELP. We were looking out the window. Just as quickly as the water went up, it started to go down. It stop at the gate which is approximately 4 feet. I started to lay down again and eventually fell asleep. I ended up waking up about 4am. I look down from out the window and saw that the water was down.



I kept on saying that the worst part is not over. There's recovery which is gonna be hard. There are trees around me that is pull out from its roots that i didn't hear fall down during Sandy.


I didnt have to go to school because it was being used as evauation zone. The 113Q was running free for a few days so i would go out to eat and stuff. The A train doesn't work but now they do have the Shuttle Bus running to JFK.


FEMA, National Guard and Red Cross are helping us out with food and blankets and other needed products.


Councilman James Sanders was helping us. He was out in Far Rockaway and was ripping on LIPA over us not having power.
